Mio Man Accused of Child Abuse

A Mio man accused of child abuse is due back in court in Oscoda County January 18.

38-year-old Timothy Peterson turned himself in to police on January 4 for an incident that allegedly took place in November. Child Protective Services interviewed a juvenile relative victim and a witness at the Northern Michigan Children’s Assessment Center in Roscommon, who say Peterson punched and choked the victim. He was arraigned in Oscoda County on a single charge of third-degree child abuse committed in the presence of another child. His bond has been set at five thousand dollars.
