Midland Man Drowns in Lake Michigan After Boat Capsizes

The body of an elderly Midland man who went missing while boating in Lake Michigan has been found.
Police say last on August 29, an 86-year-old man and a 59-year-old Midland man were boating about a mile from the pier in Frankfort in Benzie County when their boat capsized around 6:00 A.M. A nearby fisherman was able to pull the younger man from the water. A search response was launched involving the U.S. Coast Guard Station Manistee and multiple state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies.
The man’s body was finally discovered about 11 hours later around 5:00 P.M., while the boat was towed back to the harbor. Police have not released the identiy of the man.
