Midland Feeling Effects of Upriver Flooding Impacting Sanford/Edenville Area
Midland County 911 reports the water is still rising from all of the rainfall we received over the last couple of days and it will continue to do so throughout the day.
The gates at the dams on Wixom and Sanford Lakes are wide open and they are no longer able to contain or control the water flow or spill.
If you have evacuated from your home in the Edenville and Jerome Township areas, it is not recommended that you return home until the water has crested and access is safe. We will keep you updated as best we can as to when that is. You should make arrangements through today and tomorrow. The shelters are open at the Coleman High School and the Meridian Junior High if you need somewhere to go.
The Tittabawassee River is still rising in Midland after rising above its 24 foot flood stage and is expected to crest at 29.9 feet Wednesday morning. The images in this story were taken near the Tridge in downtown Midland around 10 Tuesday morning.
