Midland City Council to Honor Firefighter and Officer of the Year

The Midland City Council meets tonight and will honor the city’s Officer and Firefighter of the Year.

In a ceremony at the Midland Country Club in October, Midland Police Department (MPD) Det. Lucas Huss was honored as the Police Officer of the Year and Midland Fire Truck Operator (FTO) Max Kopplin was honored as the Firefighter of the Year. Huss has been with the police department since 2103, where he started as a road patrol officer, eventually betting promoted to detective. Kopplin started with the fire department also in 2013. In addition to his duties operating fire truck, he also oversees the department’s social media channels and is the chair of the Midland Firefighters Youth Foundation.

The council meeting starts at 7:00 P.M.
