Michigan Treasury Launches Paid Internship Program for College Students
The Michigan Department of Treasury has launched a new paid student internship program aimed at college students seeking experience in state government. This initiative offers a semester-long opportunity for students to gain practical experience relevant to their fields of study. State Treasurer Rachael Eubanks noted that the program is open to students from various disciplines, including social sciences, business, law, marketing, communications, and STEM. The internships will typically feature hybrid work arrangements and are designed for both undergraduate and graduate students. Participants will receive professional development and real-world experience through project assignments and daily tasks. Additionally, the program aims to foster networking and mentorship opportunities with industry professionals. This experience is intended to prepare interns for future careers in public service. Applications for the internship program are currently being accepted until November 7, 2024. The first cohort of interns is expected to begin their positions in January 2025. This program aligns with Treasury’s commitment to cultivating the next generation of public service leaders in Michigan.
