Men Arrested For Using Stolen Credit Cards
Two Detroit area men are in the Bay County Jail for allegedly trying to use stolen credit cards.
21-year-old Calide Gordy and 22-year-old Elijah McKinnon are accused of trying to buy gift cards from the Meijer on Wilder Rd. in Bay City and liquor and lottery tickets from the Ideal Party Store on Salzburg Ave. on Monday, August 26. While at Meijer, the clerk became suspicious of the pair and asked to see ID, prompting one of the men to allegedly hit her in the face, push her down, grab the cards and run. The owner of Ideal called 9-1-1 after a clerk became suspicious of the men, who fled the store. They were arrested shortly afterward.
Gordy is facing a charge of running from police and McKinnon is charged with having stolen property. Police say they were also in possession of a stolen vehicle, are suspects in a string of break-ins and are wanted in Oakland County for robbery.
