McLaren’s Network Back Online After Cyberattack
Following a cyberattack that disrupted operations at McLaren Healthcare, the hospital system says its network is once again fully operational.
According to McLaren officials, the attack occurred in early August. McLaren implemented downtime procedures at several facilities, which required some non-emergent appointments, tests, and treatments to be rescheduled. The hospital system is still working to determine how much data and patient information was compromised in the attack.
With the restoration of its network, providers at all McLaren hospitals and outpatient centers will again be able to access patient’s electronic medical records. All records kept manually during the disruption will take several weeks to fully integrate into the netowrk, according to hospital officals.
