On Thursday, February 11, the Dow Event Center and the Saginaw County Health Department will be putting on the first of several “neighborhood based” mass COVID-19 vaccination clinics.

The drive-through event will run from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. for Saginaw County adults ages 80 and older. The clinic will be by appointment only and will require the partial closure of Washington Ave. to allow drivers to enter near the west side of the building and through to the event center’s arena floor. Once on the floor, cars will drive to one of 24 vaccination stations led by health department nurses and staff, as well as Central Michigan University medical students and faculty and Michigan National Guard medics and soldiers.

The Dow will also be holding an appointment-only blood drive, put on by Versiti Blood Center, on February 19 from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.  which will provide free COVID-19 antibody testing on successful donations, and a face covering celebrating Black History Month for anyone attempting to donate.
