Man to Be Arraigned In Bay City Man’s Death
A suspect in the death and dismemberment of Justie Stilwell is scheduled to be formally charged in a Bay County court Friday.
On September 18, the 41-year-old Stilwell’s family reported him missing after he missed work for several days as a custodian at TL Handy Middle School. Police say later in the day, a 16-year-old girl saw what appeared to be a human foot in the Saginaw River at the Golson Boat Launch, near Independence Bridge. Police discovered severed arms and legs as well. On Wednesday, police announced they found what appears to be the head and torso of Stilwell at a different location in the city.
Police arrested a 40-year-old man at his home in the 100 block of Elm Street in Bay City in connection with the incident, who has not been named at this time until he is charged with a crime. They say he has prior convictions of drunk driving and domestic violence.
Police are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine Stilwell’s exact cause of death.
