Man Speeds Away from Winery, Arrested for Intoxicated Driving, Firearm Possession

A 27-year-old Midland man was arrested in northern Michigan after allegedly driving 99 miles per hour while under the influence and in possession of a firearm.

The incident occurred Sunday afternoon at a winery on the Old Mission Peninsula in Grand Traverse County. According to Michigan State Police, troopers were advised to look out for an intoxicated driver around 6:25, and he was discovered a short time later travelling southbound at excessive speeds. A traffic stop was conducted, and police reportedly discovered a loaded 9mm handgun.

The man was arrested for operating while intoxicated and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
