Man Hospitalized In Flint After Fleeing Police On Motorcycle

A man on a stolen motorcycle will have a court hearing once he’s released from the hospital.

Police in Flint attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the 30-year-old motorcycle driver on Tuesday around 9:30 P.M. after clocking him doing 74 in a 35 mph zone. Police say the man fled the area, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph. Police did not initiate a chase for concerns over public safety.

The man crashed the bike in the area of Hamilton Avenue and James P. Cole Boulevard, then fled on foot and jumped into the Flint River, according to police. He was arrested only minutes later and taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
