Man Accused of Crashing Into Picket Workers Takes Plea Deal

A man accused of crashing into a picket line with his vehicle at a Genesee County GM plant last year has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor.

Malachi Hittle worked for a third party cleaning crew at the Flint Processing Plant in Swartz Creek. As he was leaving the plant after his shift on September 26, he encountered a line of striking GM workers. Hittle drove through the line, injuring five people. In exchange for his plea to a charge of failure to stop at the scene of a crime, prosecutors agreed to drop a felony charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Hittle is scheduled to be sentenced on Monday.
