LLEAD Saginaw Host Community Dinner to Support Literacy in Saginaw
Latino Leaders for the Enhancement of Advocacy and Development (LLEAD) Saginaw is sponsoring a community dinner this Sunday in Old Town Saginaw. “Eat in the Street” is an opportunity for Saginaw residents to bring people together in a fun and relaxed setting with food and music. The event was organized in collaboration with Celebration Party Rentals, the Old Saginaw City Lawn Chair Film Festival and Old Town Junction.
Donations for the meal will be accepted, with proceeds benefitting Readers to Lleaders, an initiative dedicated to promoting literacy and providing bilingual books to children in the Saginaw community. The event takes place at 6:00 P.M. on the corner of Ames and North Hamilton.
Readers to Lleaders is a bilingual book giveaway in Saginaw County for elementary and middle school students. In addition the registers students will receive a link to hear the book read to them in Spanish by a local community member. To follow the bilingual book giveaway LLEAD Saginaw will host a pizza party. The party includes more free books, food, music, games common to the Latino culture and the Spanish speaking readers at the event to read the books in person to the students.
