Kildee Talks Transit Funds During STARS Visit

Congressman Dan Kildee made a stop in Saginaw Thursday to meet with regional transit officials at the Rosa Parks Transit Center and discuss incoming federal funding to boost Michigan’s public transportation.

Kildee says the funds will help make STARS and other transit authorities across the state safer, more reliable, and more accessible for those who may have to rely on them as their only form of transportation.

Speaking alongside STARS executive director, Glenn Steffens, and a number of regular STARS riders; Kildee says the recently approved Bipartisan Infrastructure bill includes $1 billion for Michigan over the next five years to improve public transportation, alongside other incoming federal funds that will help repair roads, replace bridges, remove lead pipes, and expand high-speed broadband internet.
