Juneteenth Celebrations In Saginaw This Weekend

Several events are planned in Saginaw this weekend for the Juneteenth celebration.

Starting Friday evening at the Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw Township, a formal Juneteenth Ball will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. with tickets at $30 for attendees 18 and under and $50 for anyone over the age of 18.

Saturday, the Juneteenth Festival will take place from noon to 5:00 P.M. at Morley Plaza in downtown Saginaw, and the Juneteenth Parade, scheduled to travel along Washington Avenue between East Genesee Avenue and Ezra Rust Drive, will start at 11:00 A.M. with Saginaw Valley State University president George Grant serving as the grand marshall. Grant is SVSU’s first black president.
