Investigation Leads to Seizure of Drugs, Guns

A 24-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after a search on two Saginaw area residences.

According to Michigan State Police officials, an investigation into illegal drug and gun activity led to the issuing of search warrants on an apartment on Colony Drive in Saginaw Township and a home on Mason Street in Saginaw. During the searches, state police troopers, with help from officers with the Bay Area Narcotice Enforcement Team, discovered 9.5 ounces of cocaine, four illegal or stolen handguns, a rifle, shotgun and $7,000 in cash.

The suspect, who police say was on probation for prior drug offences, was lodged in the Saginaw County Jail.
