Independence Bridge to Close for Nearly a Week

Independence Bridge in Bay City will be closed next week for maintenance.

Bay City Bridge Partners says the bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic from 7 a.m. on Monday, December 18th to 6 p.m. on Friday the 22nd. According to the City, the closure will allow for work that can’t be accomplished with traffic. Vehicles will be detoured to Veteran’s Memorial Bridge. Independence is scheduled to stay open through January 1st, with another 5-day closure set to begin on the 2nd.
