Huron County Man Critically Injured in Tuesday Morning Crash

A Kinde man was critically injured in a Tuesday morning crash.

According to Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson, the 57-year-old man was driving a 2006 Ford Mustang southbound on Bad Axe Road near Wadsworth Road in Bingham Township, when he was struck by a 2015 Chrysler van that failed to stop at the intersection’s stop sign around 6:30 a.m.

Hanson says a sheriff’s deputy on his way to work happened to arrive at the scene and began rendering aid to the Kinde man, who eventually lost consciousness. He was taken to McLaren Thumb Hospital before being flown by helicopter to another hospital. As of Tuesday afternoon, his condition was unknown.

The 30-year-old woman who was driving the van suffered minor injuries and refused further treatment.
