High School Students Among Suspects in Gun Store Robbery
Four of seven suspects arrested so far in connection with a robbery at Showtime Guns and Ammo in Saginaw Township on Aug. 2 were students at Heritage High School.
Saginaw Township Community Schools Superintendent Bruce Martin says the four students were on the varsity football team roster, but are no longer on the team. He expressed hope that the investigation will show the students were not involved.
State Police and federal authorities executed search warrants on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Saginaw area, arresting five adults and two juvenile, both of whom are Heritage students. The other two students are 17 years old. More arrests are expected.
An estimated 40 to 50 guns were stolen in the robbery. State Police said they recovered six of the guns during the searches.
