Heroic Student Recognized for Life Saving Action

11-year-old fifth grader Dylan Paul from Bay City All Saints Elementary School is accumulating accolades after using the Heimlich Maneuver to save his choking teacher recently.

Mayor Kathleen Newsham presented a proclamation during the City Commission meeting Monday, June 3 declaring the day as Dylan Paul Day in Bay City. She explained there were also certificates for treats from local stores, plus a key to the city.

Newsham added Paul learned the life saving technique while watching a You Tube video.

Paul was also recognized by the Bay County Board of Commissioners.
