Hemlock Schools Name New STEM Center

Hemlock Public Schools has opened the new Lockwood STEM Center, on the northwestern corner of Hemlock High School.

The center, focusing on educating students for careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, is nearly 6,000 square feet. It includes a Tool and Design area, a FIRST Robotics competition field, observation balcony and meeting space. Sponsors and donors include Hemlock Semiconductor, The Rollin Gerstacker Foundation, Pumford Construction, Saginaw Control and Engineering and Dupont.

The center is named for Tom and Dana Lockwood, who spearheaded the project.
