Hayes Park in Freeland is now open

A new trailhead at Hayes Park in Freeland marks the expansion of the Tittabawassee River Trail, forming part of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail project. This 2.5-mile segment along the Tittabawassee River’s eastern banks extends to the Midland County Line. Once finished, the regional trail system will span nearly 100 miles, linking Bay, Midland, and Saginaw counties with non-motorized paths for walkers, runners, cyclists, and skaters, offering access to parks, wildlife, and Lake Huron’s Saginaw Bay waterfront.
