Great Lakes Loons Gets New Manager

The Great Lakes Loons have a new manager for the 2024 season.

The LA Dodgers have named Jair Fernandez as the new manager, becoming the 11th manager in the Loons 17 year history. The 37-year-old first began in minor league baseball in 2007 at the age of 18 in the Seattle Mariners organization. He played for several different organizations before transitioning to coaching. He was the hitting coach for the Loons in 2017 and 2018. Last season, Fernandez managed the Los Angeles Dodgers Arizona Complex League team, his seventh season coaching in the organization and fourth in Arizona.

The Loons begin this season on April 5th at Dow Diamond against the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
