Gratiot County Teen Pleads Guilty to Killing Younger Sister

A 17-year-old Gratiot County teen has admitted responsibility in the shooting death of his 11-year-old sister.

Corbin Redman pleaded guilty to reckless discharge of a firearm resulting in death after the August 2019 shooting death of Addison Redman in their Arcada Township home. Addison was killed with a 20-gauge shotgun blast to the head. Redman repeatedly denied killing his sister even as a police investigation uncovered evidence against him.

Redman was initially charged with murder and felony firearm but agreed to plead guilty to the lesser charge. He was 15 at the time of the shooting. An April court hearing will determine if he should be charged as an adult or a juvenile.
