Go Fund Me Set Up For Woman Whose House Was Crashed Into
A mother and her children escaped injury after a truck crashed into their home in Saginaw Sunday afternoon.
Police say a 28-year-old Bridgeport Township man was driving a pickup truck in the area of Hess and Beechwood around 4:15 P.M. when he crashed through multiple road signs and a mailbox before crashing into the home of Shaneka Cannon. Cannon was preparing her car for an outing with her children when the man plowed into the house, forcing Cannon to dive out of the way. She immediately ran inside the home to get her children, one of whom is a newborn. While the baby had glass and debris on him in his crib, he and the other kids were not harmed.
The driver, however, was ejected from the pickup onto the roof of the house. Firefighters responding to the scene, were able to get him down and he was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in stable but critical condition.
Cannon, who is currently on unpaid maternity leave, has had a GoFundMe page set up to help her with her expenses and to either fix her home or find a new one.
