Genesee County Sherirff’s Deputies Hand Out Holiday Cheer Instead of Tickets

Getting pulled over in Genesee County wasn’t so bad Tuesday for some motorists.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Department was pulling over vehicles and handing out Kroger gift cards instead of tickets. Called Operation Random Cheer, the gift cards were worth $250, a nice boost just before Christmas. Deputies passed out around $6,000 worth.

This was the ninth year of the event.
