Fugitive Sought In Saginaw Homicide

The Saginaw Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a fugitive.

Police say 26-year-old Shavar Craft is a suspect in the murder of 25-year-old Daquan Mims of Saginaw, who was shot to death at a street party in Old Town Saginaw on June 16. Police responded to large, disorderly crowds in Old Town in the 100 block of South Hamilton Street around 1:45 a.m. when several gunshots were fired in the 100 block of North Hamilton. Police discovered Mims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. A second victim, a 24-year-old male, suffered minor injuries. Mims’ murder was Saginaw’s 10th homicide of 2024.

Anyone with information about Craft’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Saginaw Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to Craft’s arrest. Only information leading to an arrest will be eligible for the reward.
