Freeland Woman Wins $2 Million in Michigan Lottery

A Freeland woman couldn’t quite believe it when she discovered she was $2 million richer.

36-year-old Rachel Frye played the Mega Millions game on August 4, matching five white balls. The jackpot for that prize is normally $1 million, but she had spent the extra dollar for the 2x Megaplier, doubling her winnings.

Frye says she checked her lottery account on her phone and initially thought there was some sort of mistake, until she checked her email with a confirmation from the Michigan Lottery office. Frye says she plans on paying off student loans, setting up college funds for her children and saving the rest.
