Free Virtual Presentation On HPV Links to Cancer

The MyMichigan Medical Group is hosting an online presentation on the HPV virus and its links to cancer.
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a common infection that spreads through sexual activity. About 79 million Americans currently have HPV, but many of them don’t even know that they’re infected. That’s because HPV generally doesn’t have any symptoms. However, more than 46,000 new cases of cancer are found in parts of the body where (HPV) is often found.
The free virtual presentation will focus on HPV awareness and the connection of HPV with cancers. The program will take a closer look at the HPV vaccine and cancer prevention, discuss the relationship between HPV and cervical, head and neck cancers, as well as the screening and symptoms of head and neck cancers. There will be a question and answer time following the presentations. To register, visit mymichigan.org/hpv or call 800-999-3199.
