A crash in Isabella County’s Chippewa Township Sunday, June 30 claimed the lives of four people.

Police say the driver of a Jeep on M-20 near Mt. Pleasant may have suffered a medical issue, which caused  him to swerve into oncoming traffic and crash head-on into a pickup truck. A third vehicle then hit the pickup.

Police identified the Jeep driver as 48-year-old Jason Macarthur of Hemlock. He was killed, as were two passengers in the pickup; 43-year-old Jeremy Jackson and 3-year-old Jayce Jackson. The pickup driver, 34-year-old Jessica Jackson, died overnight in a hospital from her injuries.

A passenger in Macarthur’s vehicle, 36-year-old Jennifer Harvey, suffered non life-threatening injuries. Two people in the third vehicle, 60-year-old Keith Genther and 56-year-old Cathy Genther, were injured but are expected to survive.
