Former Township Clerk Pleads No Contest to Misconduct

The former clerk of Flint Township pleaded no contest Wednesday to charges of misconduct in office.

Kathy Funk was the clerk during the 2020 election and was originally charged with ballot tampering. Prosecutors argued she was desparate to keep her position by rigging the election. She did win, by a narrow margin. She resigned from the position in 2021 and went on to become the Genesee County Elections Supervisor until an investigation began into the election.

Funk is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on March 20.
