Former Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department Employee Charged with Sex Crimes in Two Counties

A man accused of molesting young boys has been charged in two Michigan counties.

State police say Ronald Belko is accused of sexually abusing children for several years before 2009 in both Saginaw and Cheboygan counties. Belko is a former employee of the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department, serving in a limited law enforcement capacity as a member of the department’s support unit from 1993 to 2021. He was let go in 2021, though the department says it was unaware of any allegations against him at the time.

Belko is charged with first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13, and accosting a child for immoral purposes in both counties. His next court date is July 3 in Saginaw County.
