Former Saginaw County Jail Corrections Officer Sentenced in Tasing Incident

A former corrections officer at the Saginaw County Jail has been ordered to pay $455 after tasing her coworker while on the job.

Video released by the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office shortly after the incident, which took place in March, shows 33-year-old Angelina Young pulling out her taser and using it on a coworker, knocking him from his chair. At the time, Young claimed it had been a practical joke, but she was placed on administrative leave, then fired in June.

Last month, she pleaded no contest to one count of assault and battery, a charge which could have landed her up to 93 days in the very same jail where the incident took place.
