Flint Shooting Leaves One Dead, One Wounded

A male suspect is awaiting arraignment in the Genesee County Jail after a shooting on Flint’s north side late Monday left one person dead and another hospitalized.

Police were called to the BP gas station in the area of Clio Road and Myrtle Avenue for a report of shots fired. They say what started as a verbal altercation escalated into a physical fight, when someone pulled a handgun and opened fire. A 24-year-old man was killed at the scene. An 18-year-old was also struck by gunfire and was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in good condition.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Flint Police Department or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-JAIL.
