Fire Destroys Bay County Abandoned House

A fire in Bay County’s Gibson Township Friday, September 3 destroyed an abandoned house.
Fire crews responded to the building on Stevenson Rd. between Eight and Nine Mile roads around 4:30 a.m. to battle the blaze. Officials say the house caught fire while residents were conducting a controlled burn of a barn about 150 yards away, though an exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The house is considered a total loss. No injuries were reported.
