Fire Contained at John Glenn High School in Bangor Township
A small fire broke out early this morning at John Glenn High School in Bangor Township. The fire was reported at approximately 7:05 a.m. by school staff who called 911 after noticing smoke coming from a classroom. Firefighters from the Bangor Township Fire Department arrived at the scene and found the fire contained to a single classroom. Crews used a fire extinguisher to suppress the flames and then ventilated the room to clear smoke.
According to Fire Chief Mark Galloner, the cause of the fire was traced to a wooden cover left on top of a stove that was still on. No injuries were reported, and the fire did not spread beyond the classroom. The damage from the fire was described as minor. Firefighters are continuing to investigate the incident, but it appears to have been an isolated event.
