Essexville Man Charged In Child Pornography Case

The state police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began an investigation into 35-year-old Michael Hiltz after it was discovered he was allegedly sharing child pornography on the internet.

After seizing digital evidence from his home, Hiltz was charged with possession of child sexually abusive material and transportation of child sexually abusive material. Hiltz was incarcerated at the Parnall Correctional Facility on unrelated charges during the investigation.

Police are asking parents to have a talk with their children about the safe use of the internet. Anyone who suspects a child is being exploited can report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children cyber tip line at report.cybertip.org.
