Police in California have discovered the body of a Huron County woman missing since mid November.
66-year-old Ann Herford was last seen November 12 after telling a friend she was going hiking. On November 15, police located her vehicle at the trailhead of the Arnold Rim Trail System in Arnold, California, prompting an extensive search. 18 agencies and nearly 480 individuals participated in the search, though last week it was scaled down.
However, on Thursday, police and volunteers in Calaveras County located Herford’s body on a 35-degree sloped hillside beneath a heavy tree canopy and dense foliage. Due to the nature of the terrain, her body had to be airlifted out by helicopter. While a cause of death is pending, police say they don’t believe Herford’s death is supiscious.
