Drug Take Back Day This Weekend
This Saturday is the US Drug Enforcement Agency’s Drug Take-Back Day.
Both the Michigan State Police and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs will allow Michiganders to drop off expired, unused, or unwanted pills including controlled substances and prescription meds for destruction. Liquids, inhalers, patches, needles, or other illegal substances will not be accepted as part of the takeback.
From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. residents can visit the Aleda E. Lutz Medical Center at 1500 Weiss Street in Saginaw, or any Michigan State Police Post including the tri-cities post at 2402 Salzburg Road in Freeland to safely dispose of the unwanted pills.
If residents can’t make Saturday’s event, all Michigan State Police posts also accept pills on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
