Delta College’s return to downtown Saginaw is now reality. Delta administrators and faculty joined community leaders Saturday, June 22 to cut the ribbon, opening the new Saginaw Center at 319 E. Genesee.

Delta President Dr. Jean Goodnow says the $12.7 million facility benefits a variety of potential students with an associates degree or training for a career in the STEM fields.

Saginaw Mayor Floyd Kloc says the college will be one of several recent anchors bringing hundreds of new people to the city.

The state of Michigan awarded Delta with a grant covering half of the construction cost. The Saginaw Center, replacing the Ricker Center in Buena Vista Township, has been in the planning stage for more than a decade.
