The Saginaw County Heatlh Department says on its Facebook page that community spread of COVID-19 is still at a low level, but there has been an uptick in cases and positivity rates over the past two weeks.
As of Wednesday, May 4, Saginaw County is seeing about 22 new cases per day. That compares to 6 to 10 cases a day just a few weeks ago. The positivity rate is at 8.3 percent. Health Department officials say the actual rate may be higher, since many people are now doing home tests, which are not being reported. Hospitalizations are still low, with 19 adults and 3 pediatric patients reported in local hospitals.
None of the patients were on ventilators.
