Community Service Trooper positions created in Michigan

The Michigan State Police has announced the addition of 18 full-time Community Service Trooper or CST positions to enhance community outreach and engagement. CSTs are specially trained in public speaking, teaching, and community engagement, working closely with schools, community organizations, and law enforcement agencies. A new initiative, Juvenile Justice Jeopardy, will be introduced in Michigan schools this fall, educating K-12 students on legal system topics like truancy, rights during law enforcement contact, and issues like bullying and vaping. Sixteen of the 18 CST positions are currently filled, with the program centrally managed by MSP’s Grants and Community Services Division.
