Communities Close Offices Temporarily As COVID-19 Cases Rise

Several local governmental offices are closing temporarily due to the increase in coronavirus cases. Saginaw Township, Buena Vista Township, Isabella County and the City of Caro have all announced closings. Saginaw Township Manager James Wickman said the township hall, public services building and Center Courts are all closed. Center Courts closed at noon Friday. The Saginaw County Health Department reported 200 new positive cases since Thursday and 8 deaths. Wickman also says an unspecified number of staff or their families have been affected. Saginaw Township plans to keep the offices closed at least through the Thanksgiving holiday.

Buena Vista Township is closing its office including their drive-through window through the end of the year. Residents can still schedule an appointment if necessary, but should conduct business online, by mail or use their drop box for bills. After Friday, the Isabella County building will be closed until November 30th. Services can be accessed online or by phone. The City of Caro is restricting all offices to city personnel only starting Monday, until further notice. Caro also directs residents to do business online, by mail or using the city hall drop box.
