Clio Man Injured In Crash As Motorist Swerves to Avoid Deer

A crash in Genesee County Tuesday night sent a Clio man to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the crash occurred around 9:15 when a 70-year-old Swartz Creek man driving a 2024 Jeep south on I-75 near Maple Road swerved to avoid a deer and side swiped a 2015 Dodge Ram driven by the 46-year-old Clio man, forcing it off the road and rolling into a ditch. No other injuries were reported in the crash.

Police are reminding motorists that if a deer or other wildlife is in the road, do not swerve to avoid it as it can result in an even greater chance for injury or damage than would be caused by hitting the animal.
