The Saginaw Fire Department has teamed up with the city’s Public Services Facilities Division to help provide some potentially life-saving equipment to City Hall.

Five new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) have been recently installed in City Hall and the Public Works building. Fire Chief Chris VanLoo says “The Fire Department worked closely with the Facilities Division to ensure the AEDs are located in key locations.”

The defibrillators have been added to the lobby, Motor Pool Garage, Engineering Corridor, outside of the City Council Chambers on the second floor, as well as near the public restrooms in the basement corridor.

In addition to the devices, the Fire Department will offer training to city employees on the proper use of AEDs. VanLoo says the addition of the defibrillators and training could be make the difference between life and death for those needing help.
