CenterStreet Closed in Sanford for Dam Repairs

Sanford residents have some detours to follow for the next year and a half as repairs to the Sanford Dam get underway.

The reconstruction of the dam began Monday and is expected to be finished by 2026. During that time, Center Street is closed from Oak to Cedar Streets. Construction is also underway on the three other dams operated by the Four Lakes Task Force: the Edenville Dam, which also failed in the May 2020 flood, plus the Smallwood and Secord dams.

The task force is also holding a review webinar on December 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. To register for the event, go here.
