Catfishing Mom Sentenced In Isabella County Court

A woman convicted of stalking her own daughter will spend a minimum of 19 months in prison.

42-year-old Kendra Licari of Beal City was sentenced in Isabella County court last Wednesday after a bizarre case came to a close. Licari created a false online social media profile and used it to send her daughter and another teen hateful messages, known as catfishing. Licari also tried to convince police the messages came from one of the victims. She pleaded guilty in March to two counts of stalking a minor. Charges of obstruction and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime were dropped in exchange for her plea.

Licari will spend up to five years in prison. She has begun mental health treatment and is taking parenting classes, according to her attorney.
