Buena Vista Township Man Charged In Former Roommate’s Death

A suspect in a Sunday murder was charged in a Saginaw County court Wednesday.

29-year-old Timothy Holden junior is accused of shooting and killing 30-year-old Xavion Hopkins in Holden’s Buena Vista Township apartment. Police say the two men and former roommates had an ongoing feud which Hopkins wanted to address. He went to the Crossings apartment complex in the 3600 block of Hess Avenue early Sunday morning, when an argument between the two men began. Police say Hopkins started a fight with Holden, who grabbed a gun and shot Hopkins twice in the chest.

Friends of Hopkins took him to Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw where he died from his injuries. A surveillance camera set up in Holden’s apartment captured the entire incident, according to police.

Holden is being held in the Saginaw County Jail on charges of open murder, felony firearm and lying to a police officer. His next court date is March 5.
