Birch Run Man Arraigned for Secretly Filming Teen Girl in Midland

A 44-year-old man is accused of filming a Midland teen without her knowledge.
Police say Kent Kalenak of Birch Run set up a hidden camera in the bathroom of a 16-year-old girl and recorded images and videos of her while she was unclothed. Police say the victim’s mother found the images on Kalenak’s phone and contacted police.
Kalenak was arraigned in Midland County on September 4 on charges including aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, using a computer to commit a crime, capturing disturbing image of an unclothed person and distributing sexually explicit, visual or verbal matter to children. Kalenak’s next court date is pending. He’s being held on a $200,000 bond.
