Bay County Library System marks 50 years
The Bay County Library System marks 50 years of serving the community with books, educational programs, and more. Celebratory events will take place at its four branches, Each branch will host an open house during the month. Wirt Library Tuesday the 10th, Pinconning Branch: Thursday the 12th, Auburn Branch: Wednesday the 18th and the
Sage Branch Thursday the 19th. All open house events will be held from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Bay County Library System, which began in 1974 from the five separate libraries, now offers a seamless way for patrons to access materials across all branches. Through the library’s app, users can request books, STEM kits, and more for delivery to their preferred branch, including the traveling Bookmobile. Each branch also has unique collections, like the Wirt Library’s “Library of Things,” where you can borrow items like a Karaoke Machine, STEM Kits for Kids or Ghost Hunting Kit.
